Lavender Wedding Ideas
We love lavender at The Tythe Barn. It’s such a simple and easy addition to wedding decorations, enlightening all the senses, from the bouquets to the table settings and all the way to the confetti. The soft colour can also look very elegant and ties in perfectly for a beautiful barn wedding! Take a look at some of our favourite lavender wedding ideas.
How about a sprig of lavender to decorate a chilled, summer reception drink?
Why not dress your aisle or church pew with bunches of lavender? You could keep it simple with a small addition to the ends of the seating or perhaps fill jugs with larger bunches to create a dramatic countryside feel which will really catch the eye. Many people also find lavender to be a really soothing scent so helping create that relaxed wedding vibe.
Lavender bridesmaid dresses can make the perfect picture. The colour looks beautiful at spring weddings when the flowers and greenery are starting to bloom, but we've also seen them look amazing at a winter wedding and teamed with a white bolero to keep your girls warm this combination is stunning! Yet to hand out the role of bridesmaid to your favourite people? Take a look at our ideas blog on how you can ask your bridesmaids to join your tribe.
Gatherings of lavender for your wedding flowers are really pretty, especially at barn weddings surrounded by the natural greenery.
...Don’t forget the buttonholes!
At The Tythe Barn, lavender is the only confetti we allow (aside from bubbles), but don’t let that dishearten you. It smells divine and still captures the iconic confetti shots that couples love. Plus it can be presented in such unique ways.
Centrepieces can be anything that represents you, your style and your favourite things. Barn weddings are the perfect opportunity for lavender centrepieces and look particularly beautiful as small bunches in jars or rustic jugs. It’s not too domineering so your guests can still talk to each other across the table. Perhaps even a lavender table runner to add an extra pop of colour.
You could even give out lavender as wedding favours. This could be lavender seeds for them to grow at home, a lavender scented soap or just a simple lavender cutting.
A very attractive idea for your table plan could be adding a sprig of lavender to a hessian backdrop - as here...
or plant pots!
