A Barn Summer

20/09/2018

What a whirlwind of a summer it’s been this year, and we’re not just talking about the weather.  Each month saw exciting things happening at The Tythe Barn, in fact we felt that every week the barn was being transformed into the dreamiest spot ever - ready to host the most spectacular celebrations!!  We had an absolute blast helping create memories to last a lifetime, so we wanted to share with you some of our favourite parts from Summer 2018.

At the beginning of the summer we played host to a type of visitor we'd not seen at the venue before...very friendly and rather gorgeous, please meet the Alpacas!

June also saw the wonderful wedding of Harriet and Matt photographed by a big favourite of ours - Igor Demba.  Just take a look at some of his stunning images - our Arbour looks rather good set against the summer fields too...

The summer has seen so many wonderful indoor and outdoor ceremonies and each time we fall in love with the way our couples choose to decorate the venue... Here are just a few examples of how our couples create their dream day at the barn.

The summer is a great way to enjoy our gardens and all that they offer - deckchairs, picnic blankets, the Folly, garden games, milk churns, our Prosecco cart, Gin station and Landie to name a few.  Even the family sheep and cows like to show up!

The summer saw the trend for green foliage continuing as well as a number of stunning floral hanging installations - absolutely gorgeous!

Early August saw us celebrating the marriage of Mr and Mrs Allwright.  What a beautiful day it was and we were overjoyed to receive this review from the happy couple.

“We cannot thank Jackie and her team at The Tythe Barn enough for all their hard work on the 4th August. They went above and beyond for our special day and played a huge part in making it the amazing day it truly was. Our wedding day was and will always be the best day of our lives. The Tythe Barn exceeded our expectations for our day and we have memories now that will last a lifetime.

From the moment I arrived in the morning to get ready in The Nook, Jackie was on hand and was very attentive, consistently checking I was okay and if I needed anything. Getting ready in The Nook was such a great experience and I’ve made memories with some of the most important women in my life that again will last a lifetime. It was so relaxed and chilled getting ready in The Nook that I did not stress one little bit, which is unusual for me!

The relaxed and chilled feel continued for the rest of the day and us and our guests are continuing to talk about it. Our day was exactly what we wanted and more. Thank you all so much for bringing our ideas to life and making our day truly special.”

The Nook always proves incredibly popular with our Brides.  Here's the lovely Lisa stepping out of The Nook before taking her first few steps down our garden path and pergola.

The Nook always proves a lot of fun and our brides quite often mention it as one of the favourite parts of their day!

August continued with more fabulous weddings, including getting the chance to work with some of our favourite suppliers again.  Naked cakes were really popular this summer as were simple, classic sponges and looked beautiful in our 'Cake Window!'

We’ve seen some stunning bridesmaids this summer and they always take our breath away – take a look at some of the girls over on our Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/tythebarnlaunton/

Our fabulous team at Absolute Taste did us proud as always and the infamous Self Carve was as popular as ever!

As day moved into night and the summer sun began to set we love seeing our guests enjoying themselves in the main barn, which although started life in 1370, it certainly knows how to rock a modern party!

...and to conclude a dreamy summer wedding...what could be better than a kiss under the pergola and a Tythe Barn Sparkler Exit!!!!!

Worth a mention too is that the recent summer months have seen The Tythe Barn take centre stage in a number of magazine features as well as reap a few accolades -  we made the Hitched.co.uk favourite barn wedding venues list (of course we agree), we've featured in the 2018/19 Cotswold Bride Magazine - on the front cover no less!  We’ve also been lucky enough to be hand-picked by Rock My Wedding for their coveted supplier list – you can check out our profile here. https://www.rockmywedding.co.uk/thelist/venues/tythe-barn-launton/

The Tythe Barn often gets involved with local and National charities and this summer was no different... we've supported, to name just a few - The Wooden Spoon, the John Radcliffe Children's Hospital, the PHIP, and locally our Launton Village fete as well as sponsoring Festi-Bull at The Bull Inn Launton which was a wonderful weekend packed full of fun to raise money for The Hummingbird Cancer Support & Therapy Centre.  This latter event, together with the support of other local businesses, raised £1000 for the charity.  Here’s to next summer!

What a busy summer and September has already brought us some magical moments. Here we are with preparations underway inside the barn for a romantic wedding breakfast, complete with banqueting tables, long foliage garlands and a twinkle of fairy lights.
