2019 Wedding Trends
2018 has certainly left its mark, with ultra-violet accents from the Colour of the Year, some gorgeous natural greenery chosen by couples to dress their venues and tables, and some offbeat animals (llamas we’re looking at you!) Now it’s time to take a look at the 2019 wedding trends coming our way.
Let’s start with the 2019 Pantone Colour of the Year, Coral. Now we’ve been lucky enough to see this bright and beautiful colour in action at past weddings at the barn, and it certainly lights up the room. From rich bridesmaid dresses to subtle floral touches, it’s such an eye-catching colour, and it really pops in bouquets. Why not consider it for your cake decoration or even make-up as well?
Word in the wedding dress world is that we’ll see a return to simple and classic styles – minimalists rejoice! Now this can only be following the beautiful royal wedding back in May, where Meghan Markle wore a simple white ceremony gown with bateau neckline. Sometimes it’s good to keep things simple with clean lines and no embellishment, allowing your beauty to shine.
Whilst some elements get simpler, others become more opulent – it’s time for some fancy wedding cakes! After some stunning decoration on both royal wedding cakes in 2018, it looks like the detail on our tasty treats will become more elaborate and breath-taking. Make way for metallics and regal piping.
Some 2019 wedding trends are going to be carried over from 2018. Greenery will continue its reign at weddings and we could not be happier! Greenery at The Tythe Barn just looks stunning – so rustic and befitting of our rural setting, plus couples really love using low florals for their table settings. Gone are the days of huge centrepieces taking the table spotlight – it looks like couples are starting to go with a lower decoration. If you’re thinking about such a style but not sure where to start, head over to our Pinterest page for some ideas or alternatively chat to your florist. We’ve seen some incredible florists at work transforming our barn over the last few years with their exquisite ideas. Here are just a few to give you a little inspiration.
With the boom in greenery and natural elements, it looks like couples will also begin to opt for more eco-conscious weddings, whether that’s ensuring that the wedding breakfast uses locally sourced ingredients, that the wedding dress is made by a company with ethical values and practices, or ensuring they use foam-free flower installations.
We can’t wait to see these trends hitting the barn. Keep an eye on our social media pages to see photographs throughout the year from our latest weddings, parties and events as they unfold.
