Fun at the Fair

Whilst the heavens opened and the rain pattered down (in fact…poured), we opened the doors for our autumn wedding fair hosted by Guides for Brides. The heaters were turned up and the prosecco bubbled to welcome the couples and families who braved the weather to come and take a look around the barn and meet some wonderful local suppliers.

Allerston Taylor & Regency Carriages brought along a beautiful vintage Rolls Royce, whilst Vintage Wedding Day displayed their original 1964 splitscreen campervan, Dottie – bright and colourful against our green lawn and beautiful inside as well as out.

Inside our front doors visitors had the chance to taste some of our warm apple and ginger juice before delving into the delights of the fair – the perfect tipple on a chilly autumn day.

With private showings around our venue underway, sharing our knowledge on weddings at The Tythe Barn including ceremony options, our delicious catering as well as a peek inside The Nook, the atmosphere was alight with excited couples and families planning their big days.

Our wonderful suppliers had really worked their magic for their displays. There were some beautiful wedding dresses and accessories from Butterfly Bridal Boutique, Sugar and Spice Brides and Willow and Fern Bridal, whilst our florists (regulars at The Tythe Barn with The Great Little Flower Company and Penny Blossoms) brought some beautiful autumn colours in their arrangements.

Cake samples came from All Cakes and Sizes and The Rosehip Bakery (all delicious we might add!) as well as from Cakes by Kit who had some stunning seasonal wedding cakes on show!

Guests also got the chance to meet some of the team from Absolute Taste, our in-house catering team, with a look at their seasonal menus.

From wedding ring displays to honeymoon choices to live entertainment, there was so much to see. Did you manage to have a try on the Freezeframe Photobooths magic mirror?

Not forgetting the photos on display by some of our favourite photographers, from formal styles to a more documentary giving. Many of them have photographed weddings at The Tythe Barn on more than one occasion so really do know some the best spots to capture those special moments.

Despite the unpredictable weather, we’re so thrilled that quite a few visitors on the day said 'if this is how welcoming and beautiful the barn is on a wet day like this, you can only imagine how stunning it is when the sun shines'.  Woo hoo!!!
