Farmhouse and Grounds

Sleeps – 16-18.  The Farmhouse offers seven double bedrooms including a Bridal Suite, two large reception rooms, a dining room, country kitchen, open fires, a tennis court, a wonderful wood-fuelled hot tub and there’s an adjacent Shepherd’s Hut with sleeping for two – all right next door to the Tythe Barn.  Kitted out in typical Tythe-style you and your guests can enjoy countryside living at its best within an exclusive and intensely private retreat cradled by the raw beauty of rural Oxfordshire.

Bathrooms and Bedrooms

The main house sleeps 14 and boasts seven double bedrooms, four of which are on the first floor  (three ensuite), one on the second floor (family room) and two are at ground level (both ensuite). The family room has space to accommodate an extra z-bed (2 children).  There is also a separate ground floor WC.  The adjacent Shepherd’s Hut offers a cosy space for two with double bed, kitchenette, wood-burner and ensuite shower room.

Drawing Room (or Groom's Pad)

Don’t be deceived by it’s 15th Century history – The Farmhouse has held on to it’s heritage but flaunts an abundance of features and mod-cons to help everyone feel at home.  The whole place screams English charm but it’s The Drawing Room that tends to catch everyone’s eye.  Bright and spacious with double aspect windows and a huge open fireplace this room makes the perfect setting to gather together for that pre-dinner sherry or that all-important debrief post celebration.  A spiral staircase leads up through the old Dovecot to the bedrooms above but it’s not all ‘feet up by the fire’ – there’s a pool table, piano, dart board and chess set if you feel inclined and thus a great spot for pre-wedding prep should the Groom and Ushers want to make it their own.

Rest of the house

The rest of the rooms are not lacking in charisma either with a huge farmhouse kitchen boasting an Aga and a dividing wall that houses an original brick oven.  The Dining Room also benefits from a large Inglenook fireplace and the lounge even has a spiral wine cellar.  The two rooms located in the Pool House are lucky enough to have the Orangery at their door front.  Here you’ll find the wood-fuelled Hot Tub, sheltered by glazing on cooler evenings or open up the doors on warmer nights for some rural star gazing.
