Hot off the press, our latest blog brings you this gorgeous August wedding and we think you’ll fall in love with the super elegant styling. Take a look at the full line-up of wedding inspiration – pen and notepaper at the ready!
We’ve become a massive fan of this subtle colour palette combining pinks, creams and deep greens. Augusta Florals pulled together a delicate blend of summer blooms which worked perfectly together – teamed with creativity and a huge dose of personality, Anna and Will’s wedding provided plenty of sophistication and class!
Heading outside there are so many spaces at tythe. to explore and Anna and Will made use of them all – manicured gardens and luscious lawns or the sprawling fields of the farm, the prettiest wisteria-clad paths and our ancient Folly tucked away in a corner of the front gardens. Tythe offers an abundance of idyllic spots for your wedding photos – why not take a peak at our Instagram feed for ideas and inspiration! On a balmy summer afternoon allow yourself to get lost in all that we have to offer, there’s absolutely no reason to venture anywhere else… except when the grub is served – you definitely wouldn’t want to miss the delicious feasts being created by our award-winning caterers Absolute Taste!
Anna and Will opted for an indoor ceremony revelling in the backdrop of the barn’s rustic beams surrounded by honeyed stone walls. Look up and you’ll spot oak timbers wrapped in fairy lights and our huge barn doors with pretty sparkling lights, both set a rather elegant backdrop for the vows. We fell in love with the glorious ceiling chandelier by Augusta Florals which perched just beneath the fairy lights and positioned perfectly to frame our couple for their very intimate ‘I do’s’.
With gorgeous floral posies placed along the wedding aisle and a beautiful tribute to those who couldn’t be there, Will and Anna demonstrated how much thought and consideration had gone into their wedding planning.
The prettiest pink bridesmaids dresses were from TFNC London and complimented the stunning Maid of Honour’s dress with gorgeous glitter detail – head over to Coast if you’re luring over it as much as we are! Once the all-important preparations were done, Anna was walked down the aisle by her Maid of Honour in a very touching moment.
Groom Will, waited patiently indoors and looked just a touch nervous. He needn’t have done – with family and friends at his side and his bride Anna making her entrance with such style and elegance – nerves soon gave way to huge smiles (and quite a few teary eyes!)
We were so thrilled with the way Anna and Will transformed the barn. We love seeing our couples bring their own ideas and creativity to the venue. Tythe is such an adaptable space to work with and Anna and Will definitely ensured their day had their personality stamped all over it – the day had all the feels of a wedding plucked straight from the pages of a fairytale.
Following the ceremony, the couple headed out into the garden, the perfect spot to enjoy reception drinks. Showered with confetti it was time for the couple’s first drink as man and wife. Our pretty festoon bulbs punctuate our gardens, both front and back and adorn our wisteria aisle as well as the nooks beneath the thatch. Setting a cool vibe for outdoor weddings we appreciate how important lighting can be and our festoons are both incredibly gorgeous and ideal as a backdrop for photos!
Tythe boasts an abundance of quiet spots for those all important photographs and Anna made the most of this by spending a few moments with her girls posing along our tree-lined path that leads to the Shepherd’s Hut. A few romantic shots were also captured of the newly married couple in our open fields – usually bustling with our very own cows and sheep the fields are presently bursting with newly born lambs as we’re in the midst of lambing season but this area really is rural splendour at it’s best.
In the rear gardens you’ll catch a glimpse of our little cake window. Here you can sit your cake on our huge rustic log – a rather popular composition that seems to be unresistable to most photographers. There’s always a fantastic ‘cake’ shot either from outside peering through the window or from inside!
Once dinner was announced guests returned to our main barn, the space having been turned around for the Wedding Breakfast. We’re often asked how we can achieve this transformation from ceremony to dinner so quickly but after years of fine-tuning everyone has their role and we are well-rehearsed at what to do in an efficient and timely manner. Whilst guests are enjoying reception drinks, it’s all go for the team behind the scenes, it’s a little similar perhaps to a military operation and one we have perfected over the years.
Let your guests know what’s coming up next with our quirky chalkboards! Rustic planks with a chalkboard finish offer couples the opportunity to share their timings for their day. No need to shout out about it – it’s all there in black and white!
With the meal well underway, speeches are often a time for some fun and of course a time to remember. With our projector, PA system, roaming microphone and Bose sound system – there’s plenty to tap in to and all are available for couples and guests to use. Even better, they work equally well both indoors and out.
Celebrations underway for the happy couple!
Come the evening, and a late summer one at that, this is often the best time of day for newlywed photos! The fields just beyond the orchard are the open spaces of the farm ideal for those all-important couple shots – these are the ones you’ll be popping into that special little frame to pop on your bedside table! With only a short window of time, your photographer will be grabbing you by the arm to make the most of the flattering golden hue in the air and to achieve that much-needed shot! Anna and Will were whisked away by photographer Dominika Miechowska to make the most of ‘golden hour’ leaving their guests chilling around our lovely wood burner.
Martinis and sheepskin rugs, sun shining until 7pm in summer – you might just feel like your in the mediterranean. In the winter, the sun may leave our garden a touch earlier, around 4pm but not to worry, grab a sheepskin throw and sip on a warming whisky or cocktail from the bar, huddle with friends and family and embrace the warm glow of the fire.
Our gorgeous bar! A fairly new addition (just sneaked in pre-pandemic) but we love it with it’s impressive antique brass top which only gets better with age. We often review our Wine and Drinks offering and our team are frequently enrolled on courses or kept abreast of new trends. Updated lists covering all we have to offer are available from our office.
With the last of the desserts devoured it was time to move onto the evening ahead! Importantly for our brides (and grooms) The Nook is available until 9.00pm. So as the evening revs up and you feel the need to touch up your lipstick or quickly pop the hair straighteners back on, you can head back to our little bridal prep space for a few minutes of pampering! Just a few steps away with everything you and your tribe will need, it offers a place to gather your thoughts and take a little time out from all the excitement in the barn.
With the evening in full swing and the drinks at the bar flowing (you have to try one of Joe’s Espresso Martinis by the way) it’s time for some entertainment. If you’re looking to have a Photo Booth and capture those ‘fun’ photos with all your friends, you can arrange an indoor or outdoor photo booth to your list. Contact the team in the office who have some great recommendations and don’t forget our quirky Landie! Anna and Will opted for this cute little vintage camper van supplied by Vintage Camperbooths.
Evening drinks or snacks? The rustic cart can be staged and displayed with whisky and cigars (great choice Anna and Will), G&T’s or if you have a bit of a sweet tooth then we can get the sweetie jars out and pile them up with bon bons and cola bottles! (All sweet choices are of course up to you).
DJ or band? We have an extensive list of groups to get your groove on with and Anna and Will both knew how to party in style! When the time comes to depart, what better way to end the evening than with a row of sparklers! It’s your day so you choose, we’re just here for the ride!
