Escape to the mountains for an evening of Alpine indulgence, without leaving the Oxfordshire countryside.
As dusk settles over Tythe, step into the warmth of the 14th-century thatched Barn, transformed for an evening of après-ski revelry. Think twinkling lights, warm log-burner fires, sheepskin throws, winter air and the irresistible promise of a long evening ahead. Arrive to a glass of Prosecco, then settle in for a feast inspired by the French Alps.
Charcuterie is passed around as the evening begins, before generous, comforting dishes arrive to the table – rich, bubbling and made for sharing. French onion soup in enamel mugs alongside miniature croque monsieur, while Alpine classics bring a sense of indulgence and warmth to the heart of the evening.
The final course is a little taste of the mountainside patisserie, with delicate, citrusy and cinnamon-spiced treats to finish.
For those wanting to embrace the full Alpine experience, add a French raclette station or traditional cheese fondue with artisan breads, turning the evening into an indulgent celebration of winter, food and good company.
A little bit of the Alps, a lot of festive spirit, and a very good excuse to stay late.
