The Silk Robe

Gigi & Olive

Who doesn’t want an exquisite piece of satin or lace to waft around in on their wedding morning – then to wear again as a beautiful reminder of how the big day began. Gigi & Olive has one of the best collections of beautiful bridal picks. We love the Madeleine Long lace robe with its bell-shaped sleeves and detachable satin belt. Or the White Gaylene linen robe. It has glamorous ruffles edging its high-low hem and Kimono sleeves for pure look-at-me luxury. But for added sparkle it has to be the full-length Athena robe with a scattering of beads and sequins and a pretty train, this is one to pack for the honeymoon too.

The British Bubbles

Gusbourne Twenty-Nineteen Rosé

This is one year you’ll want to celebrate – over and over so, stock up on blush bubbles now. At Tythe, we love to celebrate all things British so opt for one of the best English sparkling wines like Gusbourne’s Twenty Nineteen Rosé, made with a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier from the vineyards in West Sussex and Kent. Get it before it goes, the label is growing in popularity amongst those in the know and always sells out at Christmas time.

Super-Luxe Beauty

Bobbi Brown palettes

It’s going to be one of the most fun parts of your wedding day – when you gather your crew in the Farmhouse bridal suite (did we mention the Champagne Station?) or The Nook with its dedicated pampering rooms – and let the make-over begin. Now is the perfect time to start practising with a colour palette from bridal beauty experts Bobbi Brown. Known for its naturally flawless looks, we love the Luxe Eye & Cheek Palette in Cool Glow for daytime and Moon Glow once the sun sets. A great pick that will take you easily from day to night – and back again for the honeymoon.

Tythe in a Bottle

Jo Malone London fragrances

Earlier this year, Tythe called in the scent experts at Jo Malone London and asked them to match our estate with some of their favourite bridal scents. Emma South, it’s fragrance and lifestyle expert, chose English Pear & Freesia because it’s ‘golden hour in a bottle’ and ‘takes you to the countryside’ as well as Poppy & Barley ‘an enchanting nod to the history of the Tythe estate’. She recommended Wisteria & Lavender for those couples marrying at Tythe at the end of May when the archway is laden with its flowers. ‘It has a real freshness to it, sweet greenery, that cascading wash of purple, it captures the smell of Wisteria after the rain when it’s slightly bejewelled with water droplets.’

We couldn’t have put it better ourselves! Emma adds: ‘Because of those incredible Oak beams at Tythe, another brilliant one is our English Oak and Hazelnut which is loved by the guys. We never gender our scents, but we have noticed men are drawn to it.’

A Farmhouse Favourite

Plum and Ashby

If your wedding includes a sleepover at the Tythe Farmhouse – and we highly recommend it does – then this is the perfect gift to transport you back to our luxurious home from home. Plum & Ashby is our brand of choice for all the Farmhouse bedrooms and bathrooms and its Fireside Embers Candle is the most evocative of a cosy afternoon in the countryside that we’ve smelt. It’s a deeply comforting woody scent with hits of black pepper, orange, cinnamon and amber and smells like, well, home!

Shoes that Sparkle

Jimmy Choo

Fashion fairyland Bicester Village is our closest neighbour and that means you have access to over 150 designer boutiques on our doorstep – and Christmas shopping heaven. Shop all the latest Jimmy Choo collections, take your pick from pearls, glitter, crystals or ballet pink patent leather, then pop across the road to Tythe and decide where they look best – walking up the centre of our barn, the Wisteria aisle or posing on the Farmhouse lawns. You may need a different pair for each!

Tea with the team

Feast Grazing Afternoon Tea

Feast Grazing will drop a selection of four finger sandwiches per person, plus three individual cakes and two freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam (to easily assemble yourselves) for just £20pp –anywhere in Oxfordshire and the surrounding borders. Everything is ready-to-eat, so this is low-effort, high impact gifting at its best – and will make the next planning session feel much more indulgent!

Lunch at Our Local

A date at an old English pub

If there’s one thing we’re not short on, it’s cosy local pubs and what better than a hearty local lunch to sustain you through all that wedding planning. Think fireside nooks and oak beams at The Pointer at Brill who will happily welcome you and the gang for a lazy lunch or epic Sunday Roast. Or pick the centuries old The Bell at Hampton Poyle, a classic English Inn that’s all flagstone floors and large leather armchairs.

For an indulgent treat you may want to ask for a voucher for the seven course Tasting Menu at the thatched Nut Tree Inn in Murcott which has held a Michelin star since 2009. All are just a ten-minute drive from Tythe’s front door. We love our neighbours and so will you!

Bag a Beauty

Sophia Webster bridal bags

If you’re still debating what your something blue might be, then Christmas can deliver a pretty solution. Nudge friends and family in the direction of Sophia Wester where they’ll find cute clutches, witty accessories and the handbag of your bridal dreams. Who could resist the Cleo Wifey For Lifey pearl and perspex bag with its sparkling blue glitter details, and now brilliantly in the sale! Or the sky-blue satin Clara Box bag with its crystal encrusted dome clasp which perfectly matches Tythe’s giant glitter ball! Floral fans will love the Margaux shoulder bag in a blue Royal Blossom print with a super chic pearl beaded handle.
