If you’re planning a wedding in 2025 and love food – you’re in for a treat. Wedding catering has evolved significantly in recent years and serves up so much more than the traditional plated Wedding Breakfast. Today’s couples want to create an unforgettable experience for their guests and are giving as much consideration to their food as they do their décor.

Personalising their day is incredibly important and couples will explore ways to tell their story through their menu choices. Encouraging friends and family to get involved through interactive dining is adding a fun element to the catering whilst sustainability continues to play a major role with couples favouring local and seasonal produce. Allow Tythe, alongside our in-house caterer Absolute Taste, to sprinkle you with foodie inspiration from our carefully curated list of the top wedding food trends for 2025.

Personalised Menus
Couples in 2025 are looking for menus that reflect their unique love story. Gone are the days of a ‘one-size-fits-all’ dining experience.
At Tythe our Evening Food menus have branched out to offer a selection of International dishes so if you met on a gap year visiting the Chichen Itza in Mexico you may want to graze on one of Absolute Taste’s Smokey ancho pulled brisket quesadillas or, if your partner proposed to you at the Parthenon in Athens you might like your guests to be served our garlic & rosemary Chicken Gyros. Remember to include flavours that you both love and ask your caterer to incorporate them into the dishes. At Tythe, we also offer couples an opportunity to personalise their drinks offering by inviting them to design and create their own cocktails.

Sustainable Catering
Sustainability is now an essential part of the food planning. Couples are making eco-friendly choices and are looking for caterers that prioritise ethical practices. Many caterers are now adopting “root-to-stem” cooking to minimise waste and repurposing leftovers. Demand for plant-based options are on the rise and couples want a caterer who can accommodate all dietary preferences and reduce the environmental impact.

Tythe – Absolute Taste are located opposite the Tythe estate and have long-established relationships with many of the local farmers. Fresh, local produce is readily available which helps to keep menus seasonal and reduce food miles. Tythe and Absolute Taste have strong sustainability values and are proud to illustrate their passion for ‘thoughtful hospitality’.

Family-Style Dinners
Informal, family-style meals have been a growing trend for some time. This style of dining creates a relaxed, intimate dining experience and encourages a sense of togetherness where guests can interact over shared food. For any guests that are meeting for the first time, it’s a great ‘ice breaker’.
Tythe – At Tythe we offer a number of shared or feasting options where dishes are placed on each table and guests dig in and serve themselves. We’ve even added a fun element to our popular ‘Self-Carve’ menu where certain guests, selected by the couple, get to dress up and act as chefs!

4. Elevated Late-Night Snacks
As the party continues into the night, late night snacks keep energy levels up. The static buffet has been replaced with far more superior offerings. Couples will often use the evening food as the area to get creative. This is the part of the wedding day that couples can really have some fun with.
Tythe – Our wood-fired pizza oven is a real crowd pleaser and adds a bit of theatre to late night munchies. We’re always happy to hear couples ideas, and have created all sorts of evening food stations from ‘8 different ways to enjoy a potato’ to ‘Flaming Donut Walls’.

Cultural Themes
With global travel increasingly more popular and readily accessible and the digital world offering opportunities for people to connect from all corners of the planet, today’s weddings are often a fusion of different cultures and traditions. With this in mind, couples are looking for caterers who can create menus that reflect the heritage of both family’s which in turn brings a very personal touch to the dining experience.

Tythe – Our in-house caterer Absolute Taste have a wealth of experience and our chefs are always happy to explore ways to create menus that reflect different cultures and traditions. We’ve hosted wonderful ‘Tea Ceremonies’ and have had the pleasure of serving up a variety of cuisines from the bold and aromatic spices of Indian dishes to the delicate artistry of fresh handcrafted sushi. Whatever your vision, we want to bring it to life with a feast that not only delights the palate but also tells a story.
